Ohio Hospital Compare

For more than a decade, Employers Health has been committed to improving quality healthcare in Ohio. We have demonstrated this commitment through five consecutive years of developing and publishing A Consumer Guide to Ohio Hospital Quality and through this website ohiohospitalquality.com, which provides consumers with a snapshot of comparative data on Ohio hospitals. We also participated on a state-appointed advisory council to the Ohio Department of Health in developing their site, ohiohospitalcompare.ohio.gov. This site allowsconsumers to compare various hospitals and procedures, and explore outcomes to help make healthcare decisions.

 

Together with the Ohio Department of Health, we have put together a user-friendly flipbook (at right), highlighting 13 common conditions and procedures that employers and consumers will find most valuable. We invite you to share this link with employees, friends and family, to help them become better-informed healthcare consumers.

 

Data at ohiohospitalcompare.ohio.gov is updated twice annually. The Employers Health flipbook contains data from a specific “snapshot” taken during the first six months of 2011.

 

This, and most guides like it, are designed to provide important information to help make informed decisions. Use this information in conjunction with other information in making decisions about hospitals. Ohio Hospital Compare is not intended to be a sole source of information about hospital quality. Rather, it is designed to provide helpful information that can play an important role in an evaluation of hospital quality, along with other sources including doctor recommendations.
